RBI Assistant Eligibility 2026
The RBI Assistant Eligibility requirements are defined in terms of age limit, educational qualifications, nationality, experience, etc. This ensures that candidates possess the required qualifications, and skills required for the job profile. While prior experience is not mandatory for this post, candidates should necessarily have proficiency in the language of the state for which they are applying.
RBI Assistant Age Limit 2026
The RBI Assistant age limit is between 20 and 28 years. The minimum age required to be eligible for Assistant post is 20 years, while the maximum age limit is 28 years. This means that candidates born not earlier than 02/02/1998 and not later than 01/02/2006 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply.

RBI Assistant Age Relaxations
The age relaxations allowed for reserved category RBI Assistant applicants are as follows:

Note -
- The candidate needs to show the SSC marks sheet or any other Educational certificate as proof of age.
- The candidates enjoying the age relaxations must produce the original category certificate.
- The cumulative age relaxation will not be available either under the above-mentioned items or in any other items.
RBI Assistant Educational Qualifications
According to the latest RBI Assistant Eligibility Notification, the applicants must have the following educational qualifications from a recognized university or institute:
- The minimum educational qualification required to apply for the examination is that the RBI Assistant candidate must have a bachelor's degree with at least 50% of the marks (Pass class for SC/ST/PwD Candidates) from the university which is recognized by the government.
- A person in the Ex-Servicemen category must be a graduate of any government-recognized university, have passed the Armed Forces' matriculation/or test, and have served in the military for at least 15 years.
- If a candidate is applying from a certain state or region, he or she must be able to read, write, and speak the regional language of that region.
Note –
- The date of passing eligibility is the date mentioned on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/Institute.
- Percentage of marks is calculated by dividing total marks obtained in all subjects across all semesters/years by the aggregate maximum marks.
- If the percentage includes decimals, 49.99% will be treated as less than 50%.
- Where CGPA/OGPA/CPI is awarded, conversion into percentage is as per university norms. If not specified, it will be considered as follows:

RBI Assistant Nationality
To fulfill the RBI Assistant Eligibility, candidates must be a citizen of India. The RBI Assistant candidates have to provide the documents like Aadhar cards, PAN cards, etc; as proof of nationality. As per the official notification, a candidate is required to be:
(a) a citizen of India or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

RBI Assistant Grade Pay
The revised RBI Assistant salary structure includes a Basic Pay of Rs. 29,000 per month, Apart from this. The salary package includes many allowances like TA, DA, HRA, etc. It also includes deductions like PF and taxes. The gross emoluments for the said post are about Rs. 58,514 (without HRA). The calculation of allowances will be based on the basic pay.
