Syndicate Bank PO Exam Details 2026

The first phase of the selection process of Syndicate Bank PO post will be conducted soon by the exam conducting board. The exam will be both Objective and Descriptive in nature (for English Language only). The sections, mark distributions, number of questions and exam duration details for the same are given below.

• Both the Objective and Descriptive Test will be online.
• Both tests will be conducted on the same day.
• Total number of questions for the Objective test will be 200.
• Total marks allotted for the Objective test is also 200.
• Candidates will get a total of 120 minutes to solve all the questions of the Objective test.
• Wrong answers in objective tests will attract negative marks, which will be decided by the exam conducting board.
• Total number of questions for the Descriptive test will be 2.
• Total marks allotted for the Descriptive test is 50.
• Total time duration for the Descriptive test is 30 minutes.
• Candidates need to score minimum qualifying marks in each objective test along with the minimum qualifying marks for the total score in the objective test.
• The Board will publish the cut off of the Online Test depending on the number of vacancies available.
• Candidates can practise using a sample test which will be uploaded on the official website to familiarise themselves with the actual examination.

Please note that this exam pattern is based on the previous exam cycle and is expected to remain unchanged. Any changes in the same will be notified here, if announced.

As mentioned earlier, candidates need to score minimum qualifying marks in each objective test along with the minimum qualifying marks for the total score in the objective test. The following is a cutoff of the descriptive test of the previous recruitment cycle, that candidates need to score to qualify for the post.

The second phase consists of a personal interview/group discussion round. Candidates qualified in the first phase which was the Online Test, can appear for this round. Usually, the Board may call up to 5 times more candidates than the usual vacancy for appearing in the Personal Interview/Group Discussion round. The qualifying percentage of marks for this phase will be decided by the exam conducting body.

The final selection will depend on the performance in Online Test and Interview and/or Group Discussion. The bank will publish the final merit of the successful candidates and the list will be published on the official website. All the successful candidates can then join the 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance Sector. After completion of the course, the Bank will appoint the qualified candidates as a Probationary Officer or PO in Syndicate Bank.

All the selected candidates during the course will be having classroom training, for which they will be getting a stipend of Rs. 3000 per month. After the training period of nine months, candidates will be given an internship for three months with a stipend of Rs.15000 per month. Candidates who successfully complete the one-year PGDBF course will be appointed as Probationary Officer. The Bank PO is expected to receive Rs.36,000-Rs.38000 as In-hand Salary.

PWD (General) –10 years

• The candidates will have to get their own scribe for the examination.
• Candidates and the scribe will have to submit an undertaking form. The candidates have to make sure the scribe is of not the same academic background as the need for the Syndicate Bank PO Recruitment.
• A compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour will be allotted to the candidates with a scribe.
• The Visually Impaired candidates (who suffer from not less than 40% of disability) will be allowed the use of magnifying glasses who are not accompanied by a scribe.
• The locomotor disability and cerebral palsy candidates where dominant (writing) extremity is affected (minimum of 40% impairment) will also be allotted a compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour.
• All the candidates eligible for the age relaxation belonging to the PWD category need to submit the medical certificate at the time of group discussions and/or during the interview. The format will be uploaded by the authorities on the Syndicate Bank Official Website.
