The SBI Apprentice has no fixed salary as they are not a permanent employee of the Bank. They are eligible for a fixed stipend based on their apprenticeship program. The stipend is fixed i.e. from INR 15,000 throughout the training duration.

The SBI Apprentice programme mainly focuses on providing banking training and practical work experience to candidates during the one-year apprenticeship period. Selected candidates receive a fixed monthly stipend, but they are not treated as permanent employees of the bank. Before applying, candidates should know about the benefits and facilities available under the apprenticeship programme.

Candidates applying for the SBI Apprentice post must fall within the prescribed age limit and should possess valid age proof documents. For SBI Apprentice Eligibility 2026, candidates must be between 20 to 28 years of age, meaning they should have been born not later than 01.04.2006 and not earlier than 02.04.1998. Candidates claiming age relaxation must also submit valid category certificates issued by a competent government authority.

The age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories and there is an upper age limit as per the Government of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates. These candidates must have certified documents to claim for relaxation.

Identification proof has to be carried along with the SBI Apprentice Admit Card during the Written Exam and the Test of Local Languages.

Candidates should have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification approved by the central or state government as mentioned in the previous official notification of SBI Apprentice.

The applicant must be either –

• An Indian citizen or,
• A subject of Nepal, Bhutan or
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 intending to permanently settle in India or,
• People migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

There is no such limit to the number of attempts for the State Bank of India Apprentice Examinations. Candidates within 28 years of age can apply multiple times if eligible.

No years of experience are needed for SBI Apprentice Recruitment. Candidates directly after graduation can apply for this recruitment. But they should make sure that they meet the age limit mentioned above as will be mentioned in the notification.

Reservation for Persons with Disability is parallel with all the vacancies and categories mentioned above. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per section 34 of “ Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016” are eligible to claim under this. The post is identified as suitable for those persons who come under the categories (mentioned below )with benchmark disabilities as defined in the Schedule of RPWD Act 2016:

• Locomotor Disabilities ( LD)
• Visual Impairment ( VI)
• Hearing Impaired ( HI)
• Other PWDs ‘d’ &’e’ categories
• Specific Learning Disabilities ( SLDs)
• Mental illness ( MI)
• Autism Spectrum Disorder ( ASD)
• Multiple Disabilities

Note: Only “persons with benchmark disability ” with not less than 40% of specified disability as certified by the certifying authority are eligible to apply.

A person who wants to avail the benefit of reservation must have the latest Disability Certificate, dated on or before the last date of registration on a prescribed format as issued by the Medical Authority in the District of applicant’s residence as mentioned in the Address Proof.
