The Railway Recruitment Cell decides the Railway GDCE salary based on the pay scale, benefits, perks, and other allowances. The annual salary for each position would be updated soon.

Every new employee by the organization will receive the Railway GDCE Pay Slip each month. The salary slip contains information such as basic pay, gross salary, net salary, deductions, allowances, and so on. This document can be used for a variety of work-related purposes, including employment verification, loan applications, getting income tax benefits, and so on.

• Assist the Loco Pilot in operating the locomotive.
• Monitor and control the locomotives systems during the journey.
• Respond to signals and communicate effectively with the team.
• Handle emergencies and troubleshoot technical issues.

• Ensure train safety and smooth operation.
• Monitor signals, track conditions, and speed limits.
• Check passenger coaches and ensure onboard safety.
• Coordinate emergency response and handle incidents.

• Oversee overall train operations and management during the journey.

Depending on the requirements of their work, each applicant selected for the Railway GDCE post will also get additional remuneration in addition to the basic pay, including the following:

Certain rules for Railway GDCE recruitment 2026 highlight the educational qualifications for candidates to apply for a post. Candidates must be aware of this before the application. The general rules of Railway GDCE Educational Qualifications include:

• You must possess the requisite educational qualification for the specific post as on the closing date of the application (21/05/2026).
• Your educational qualifications must be endorsed in your Service Register.
• Note: Candidates awaiting results of their final examinations are NOT eligible to apply.
• (General outline: ALP/Technicians require ITI/Diploma/Degree in relevant trades; Junior Engineers require Diploma/Degree in engineering; Station Master/Goods Train Manager require a University Degree; Clerks/Typists require 12th (+2 stage) with 50% marks and typing proficiency; Nursing Superintendent requires a BSc in Nursing or 3-year GNM course).
