The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission has released the MPPSC State Service Revised Vacancy 2026 details for candidates preparing for the examination. Earlier, the notification was released through Advertisement No. 29/2025 dated 31 December 2025 for recruitment in different departments of the Madhya Pradesh Government. Now, after including corrigendum updates and making corrections in category-wise vacancy numbers, the Commission has issued revised vacancy details. As per the latest update, the total number of vacancies has been revised to 156 posts. Candidates should check the updated vacancy details carefully before continuing their exam preparation.

The MPPSC last date to apply online has been extended till 3rd April 2026. The MPPSC Preliminary Examination comprises two papers: General Studies (Paper 1) and General Aptitude Test (Paper 2), each carrying 200 marks. Both papers are of 2 hours duration and consist of 100 questions, with 2 marks awarded for each correct answer. The exam is conducted in English and Hindi, with no negative marking. Candidates who clear the cutoff marks qualify for the mains examination.

The MPPSC Main Examination consists of 6 papers covering General Studies, Hindi, and Essay Writing, with a total of 1500 marks. Each paper is 3 hours long, except the Hindi Essay paper, which is 2 hours. The medium of instruction is English and Hindi for General Studies and exclusively Hindi for Hindi papers. This stage is crucial for shortlisting candidates for the interview round.

Candidates who clear the main examination are invited for an interview, which carries 175 marks. This stage evaluates the candidate’s personality, leadership qualities, decision-making skills, and suitability for administrative roles. It is a critical stage where candidates’ overall presentation and communication are assessed.

The Physical Ability Test is applicable to specific posts like those in the Home (Police) Department, Sub-Inspector, and others. It assesses candidates physical standards, such as height and chest girth, based on set criteria. For instance, male candidates must meet a minimum height of 168 cm and chest girth of 84 cm (expanded: 89 cm), while female candidates need a minimum height of 155 cm.

Accorrding to the MPPSC Eligibility requirements, the candidate must be in the age group of 21 to 40 years as on 01.01.2025.

• For  Uniformed posts, the upper MPPSC age limit is 33 years.
• Relaxations in the age limit are also allowed for reserved category applicants.

According to the MPPSC Eligibility Criteria, the applicants must have completed a graduate degree from a recognised university/institute. Those in the final year of graduation can also apply.

The MPPSC Eligibility requires that the applicants must be Indian nationals. They must also have valid documents to prove their nationality.

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission has not specified the maximum number of attempts for the MPPSC SSE Exam. As long as a candidate fulfils the required MPPSC State Services Eligibility Criteria, she/he can appear for the exam.

As per the latest MPPSC Eligibility requirements, no prior experience is required for the MPPSC State Services Exam. Graduate freshers without any experience can apply for this exam given that he/she fulfills other eligibility criteria.
