ITBP SI Exam Details 2026

Once you successfully clear the ITBP SI examination, you will be entitled to a lucrative salary structure along with other allowances as decided upon by the government from time to time. Candidates who successfully clear all the stages are eligible to receive the official annual salary package as decided upon by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. The annual salary structure of an ITBP SI will be ranging from Rs 4.2lakhs to Rs 13.4 lakhs.

The monthly in-hand ITBP SI salary of a candidate after scoring more than the ITBP SI cut off marks will be entitled to receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs.35,400 to Rs.1,12,400.. This official figure of the monthly in-hand salary is decided upon by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police and is subject to change once the candidate completes the compulsory probationary period and receives promotion or salary increment.

The salary slip for every appointed candidate is released every month by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police so that every employee is updated about their salary structure including several reductions (if applicable) and addition of other allowances. This monthly salary slip is very important and must be kept accessible at all times because it proves to be extremely useful if a candidate is looking to avail of personal loans, home loans or for other personal purposes.

The basic pay received by every candidate upon selection as ITBP SI is Rs Rs.35,400 to Rs.1,12,400. After the successful completion of the probation period and passing all the necessary tests, the candidate’s pay will rise up to a certain amount.

The ITBP SI position comes with attractive perks and allowances, enhancing the overall compensation package. In addition to the basic pay, candidates are entitled to a variety of benefits such as Dearness Allowance, Ration Money, and Special Compensatory Allowance. They also receive either free accommodation or a House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and Leave Travel Concession. Moreover, ITBP SIs benefit from free medical facilities and pension benefits under the "New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme," making the role both financially rewarding and secure.

Once the candidate completes his or her compulsory probationary period and is assessed by the officials properly, they will be entitled to receive a promotion in their job post or an increment in their salary or both. Similarly, they will also be entitled to receive a hike in the traveling allowances, housing allowances, and more. Furthermore, it will add on to their resume and will be extremely beneficial for their future personal uses.

As per the ITBP SI eligibility criteria, the age limit for various Sub Inspector posts under the Indo-Tibetan Border Police is as follows:

• SI (Telecommunication): 20 - 25 years
• SI (Hindi Translator): 18 years - 30 years

The ITBPS SI upper age limit is relaxed by a few years for reserved categories. The relaxation provided to various categories is described below:
