HP PGT Exam Details 2026

The commission decides the HP PGT salary as per the pay scale, benefits, perks, and other allowances. The annual package for the HPPSC PGT Recruitment post will be around Rs. 5.1 Lakhs to Rs. 16.3 lakhs. All the selected candidates will also be entitled to various allowances, raises, and benefits upon completing the probationary period.

For HPRCA PGT Recruitment, the annual package will be Rs. 3 Lakhs payable for 10 months in an academic year. The appointment is purely scheme-based and temporary for a period of Five (05) Years. Candidates will not be deemed Government Employees and will not have any right to regularisation.

The HP PGT Salary Slip will be issued to all the employees working under the commission every month. The salary slip contains details like basic pay, gross salary, net salary, deductions, allowances, etc. This document can be used for various work-related purposes, i.e. proof of employment, applying for loans, income tax benefits, etc.

The Salary Slip issued to the teachers working under the HPRCA scheme will simply reflect the fixed honorarium of Rs. 30,000/- per month.

The HP PGT in-hand salary is paid to the employees as per the commission’s guidelines. The selected candidates will receive a salary in the pay scale of level-12 of the Pay Matrix, i.e. Rs. 43,000 to Rs. 1,36,000/- under HPPSC PGT. Along with this, they will receive perks and benefits as amended by the commission from time to time.

The selected candidates will be on probation for a certain time frame after joining the HPPSC PGT post. During the probationary period, the candidates will be judged on the basis of their performance and ethics at work. • The age of the candidates must be between 18 - 45 years to apply for this post. As per the official notification, there shall be five years relaxation in upper age limit is admissible only to the bonafide S.C. of H.P. / S.T. of H.P. / O.B.C. of H.P. /W.F.F. of H.P. / Persons with disabilities of Himachal Pradesh. For H.P. Govt. employees and Ex-Servicemen of H.P.; age relaxation is as per the Government’s instructions issued from time to time.
• Age of a candidate shall be reckoned as on 01.01.2026.

The HP PGT eligibility criteria must be fulfilled by the applicants applying for the recruitment exam. The HP PGT Educational Qualification is mentioned below:

• Masters Degree: Must possess a Masters degree in the concerned subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Commerce) viz Botany/Zoology, Life Sciences/Microbiology/Bio-Technology/Molecular Bio/ Plant Physiology/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Physics/Electronics/Nuclear Physics from a recognised University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
• B.Ed. Degree: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) as a professional qualification with a minimum of 50% marks.
• Teacher Eligibility Test (TET): Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the H.P. Board of School Education, Dharamshala, or any other authorized agency.
• Language Proficiency: Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.
• Schooling Condition: Candidates must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from an institution situated within Himachal Pradesh (This condition does not apply to bona fide Himachalis).

Note: A relaxation of up to 5% in minimum educational qualifications is allowed for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories of H.P.

Candidates willing to secure the HP PGT Job Profile must be Indian nationals when applying for the post.

HPRCA has not released any limit on the number of attempts to appear in the HP PGT recruitment. Candidates can apply until they cross their maximum age limit as per the category and other eligibility conditions.

The commission does not require the applicants to have any prior working experience to be eligible for the post. Freshers can also apply.
