Under the SLPRB Assam Police Constable Post, there will be five stages in the examination. Physical Standard Test(PST), Physical Efficiency Test(PET), Document Verification, Written-test, Extracurricular Activities, and Special Skills.

The total marks for the written test are 50 marks. There will be 100 multiple choice type questions(MCQs) to be answered in the written test in an OMR Sheet. For each correct answer, the candidate will get half a mark. Questions of class IX and X level will be asked. There will be no negative marking.

For this post, there will be two tests for the recruitment of all the posts (i) First Phase Test and (ii) Second Phase Test.  There will be three stages for this exam- Written-test, First Phase test, Second Phase Test. For this post, four levels of exams need to be cleared. They are- Physical Standard test(PST), Physical Efficiency Test(PET), Written test, Extracurricular activities, and special skills. For this post, the candidates need to appear for the three phases. They are - Written Test, Computer Based Test, Document Verification. The total marks for the written exam will be 100. There will be 0.5 negative markings for every wrong answer. There will be 100 questions. So each question will carry 1 mark.

Written Test- It is the written test where the candidates will have questions from the following subjects:-

• History, Geography, Polity, Economy, etc. of Indian And Assam
• General Knowledge And Current Affairs

Merit List- After the written test gets over, a merit list will be prepared for both males and females based on the total marks scored in the written exam. The second phase will be a computer-based exam to examine the knowledge of posts applied and proficiency in computer operations. Self-attested copies need to be verified during the second phase of the exam.

Final Selection- The final merit list will be prepared from the marks scored on both the stages of the exam.

• The Assam Police SI annual package is expected to be around INR 3,00,000 per annum to INR 7,00,000 per annum.
• The candidates will be considered eligible for increased pay, allowances, and other perks & allowances after the successful completion of the probation period

The candidates selected for the post of Assam Police Sub-Inspector will be eligible for the allowances specified below:

• House Rent Allowances: House Rent Allowances are given to the employee who seeks rented accommodation in their posting place.
• Dearness Allowances: Dearness Allowances are given to candidates as reimbursements to manage their cost of living and rising prices in the country
• Medical Allowances: This allowance is a reimbursement of the medical expenses incurred by the employees.
• Travelling Allowances: This allowance is given to the employees to fulfil their travelling expenses incurred for office-related work.

The salary slip for the Assam Police Sub Inspector post is provided every year to all the employees in Assam Police. The salary slip contains various details such as monthly salary, deductions, allowances, etc. The Assam Police Salary Slip will be prepared as per the pay scale of Rs 14,000 to Rs 60,500 in Pay Band No.2.

The candidates who are appointed for the post of Assam Police Sub-Inspector are expected to get a monthly salary on the pay scale of Rs 14,000 to Rs 60,500 in Pay Band No.2. In addition to this, they will get Rs 8700/- as a Grade Pay with other allowances as admissible under the rules. The salary given to the Sub Inspector will be increased along with the basic salary & allowances after the probation period.

• The selected candidates will undergo a prescribed course of training for 1 year, including physical training and classroom sessions. During the training period, they will be considered a Probationary SI of Police and be eligible to receive pay & allowances.
• The appointed candidates will have to sign an agreement whereby they will be required to serve a minimum period of 3 years after successfully completing the training period or in default, to refund the training cost and traveling expenses paid by the government.
• After completing the training period, the candidates will be entitled to receive all the admissible allowances under the rules.
