The candidates should be

• A citizen of India OR
• A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1972 with the motive to permanently settle in India, Or
• An Indian origin person who has migrated from Ceylon, Pakistan, Burma, and East African Countries of Tanzania with the motive to permanently settle in India.

Character of the candidates should be such as to render him suitable in all the respect for appointment to the service. The decision of the recruitment authority in this regard shall be final.

A male candidate who has more than one spouse living or a female candidate who has married to a person who already has a wife living will not be eligible to apply for the recruitment process.
