To apply for the **WB TET**, candidates must satisfy the following minimum requirements:\n- **Educational Qualification**: Must possess a **Graduation + B.Ed / D.El.Ed** from a recognized university or board.\n- **Nationality**: Must be a citizen of India.\n- **Age Limit**: As specified in the official notification.

Primary Teacher (Class 1 to 5)

The applicants must fulfill the following minimum eligibility conditions to be eligible to appear for the WB TET exam:

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and having Diploma in Education (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (R.C.I.)

OR

  • Graduation and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

Note: 5% relaxation of marks in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or its equivalent examination 10+2 (ie 45%) will be allowed for the reserved category candidates.

Secondary Teacher (Class 6 to 8)

  • The candidate must have cleared their B.Sc./ B.A. or equivalent education from a recognized university or college.
  • The candidate should be having passed the B.Ed/ Secondary education exam with a minimum of 50% marks
  • The applicant must have qualified the final four years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)
  • The candidates who are appearing in the final two years B.Sc./ B.A./ Diploma in Education and clear the exam with at least 45% marks are also eligible to apply for the Paper-II of the WB TET examination.

Maximum Attempts

There is no provision of maximum attempts in the west bengal teacher eligibility test Eligibility Criteria.  However, the candidates who possess the minimum qualification as prescribed by the Board are allowed to appear for the examination.
