UKPSC AE Exam Details 2026

The candidates post-selection in the examination will be kept in the training period. During their training period, they will be taught about the line of work and basic responsibilities performed on a daily basis.

The candidates whose performance is found to be satisfactory during the training period will be made permanent. While the one who fails to perform well in the training period will be rejected.

The UKPSC Assistant Engineers are entitled to receive departmental promotions while being in the service. The candidates will be eligible to receive internal promotions on the basis of their performance in the examination. The hierarchy followed by the commission to promote the candidates are mentioned below:

• Executive Engineer
• Assistant Engineer
• Senior Engineer

As per the brochure, the candidates willing to apply for the post of Assistant Engineer must have qualified for the B.E. or B.Tech in the relevant discipline from a recognised university or college.

According to the official brochure, there is no mention of a scribe facility for the orthopaedically and visually impaired candidates. This implies that they need to appear for the exam on their own.

Only those candidates who possess the work experience of serving the state government for at least 2 years as an AE will be eligible to write the examination under the UKPSC AE exam pattern.

The candidates who are domiciles of Uttarakhand will be given special preference amongst others. Those who are willing to apply for the same have to have the domicile certificate issued by the competent authorities. All those candidates who are non-domiciles of Haryana are allowed to participate in the recruitment process but cannot avail of any of the benefits of the reservation.

The commission has not mentioned anything as such regarding the maximum attempts. This means that as long as the candidates satisfy the age limit and other eligibility criteria as prescribed by the commission they are eligible to apply for the exam.
