TNPSC Draftsman Exam Details 2026

The recruited employees will be able to earn upto Rs. 8,62,800. The allowances will also be added to the annual salary package once the probation period is completed by the candidates.

As per the TNPSC norms, the In-Hand salary for the Draftsman post will be Rs. 19,500/-. In addition to gross pay, the allowances entitled to the candidates will also be added.

The duration of the probation period has not been declared by the recruiting body yet, once the candidates clear the counseling round, they will have to complete the probation period as set by the commission. The final recruitment of the candidates will be based on their performance during the probation period. So, to ensure full time employment, the candidates must display their best performance.

The educational qualifications for the TNPSC Draftsman post according to the official notification are as follows:

• A Diploma in Civil Engineering from any Institute approved by All India Council for Technical Education, or
• National Trade Certificate in the trade of Draftsman (Civil) awarded by National Council for Vocational Training (for Draftsman), or
• A Certificate in Army Trade Draftsman (field) issued by Madras Engineering Group.
• The applying candidates must have a proficient knowledge of the Tamil language.

The Tamil Nadu Public Services Commission (TNPSC) will accept applications only from Indian citizens. The candidates must add relevant documents for nationality to claim their eligibility.

The candidates are free to apply for the recruitment process until they have reached their maximum age limit as prescribed by the commission. To clear the written test in the first attempt, the candidates must refer to the TNPSC Draftsman Books and preparation strategies here.

The applicants need not have any previous work experience to apply for the post. While filling out the form, the candidates must add their work experience certificates, if applicable.
