PPSC JE Exam Details 2026

The age criteria is the most important part of the eligibility section for the PPSC JE 2024 examination. The candidates in the general category have to fall in the age criteria of 18 to 37 years. However, the candidates who belong to the reserved category or who belong to special cases by the Punjab government are liable to receive age relaxation.

The candidates can check the category-wise age relaxation from the following table:

The candidates should check the educational qualification for both the domains that the commission releases. The educational qualification of both domain is given in the space below:

• The candidates having completed Matric in Punjabi or its equivalent Standard is compulsory and will be preferred for both the posts.
• The candidate should possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering or its equivalent/higher qualification from a recognized University or institution or any other equivalent or higher qualification recognized by the Government.

• The candidates having completed Matric in Punjabi or its equivalent Standard is compulsory and will be preferred for the Junior Engineer posts.
• The candidate should possess Diploma in Civil Engineering or its equivalent/higher qualification from a recognized University or institution or any other equivalent or higher qualification recognized by the Government.

The candidate must possess the following eligibility to apply for the PPSC JE 2024 application form:

(I) The candidate should be

• Citizen of India; or
• Citizen of Nepal; or
• The subject of Bhutan; or
• Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January. 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India; or.
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries.

(II) The candidates who belong to the above categories except the first one should have a domicile certificate issued by the state government of Punjab.

There is no such limit by the commission on the number of attempts for any particular candidate. However, the age criteria come into play to decide this criterion. The candidates of different categories should follow the age criteria to check if they are eligible to appear in the examination or not.

Apart from all other eligibility criteria that are released by the commission for the Junior Engineer post. The candidates also keep certain important points in mind that are listed in the space below:

• Only Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Ex-Servicemen/ LDESM, Persons with a disability, Freedom Fighter & Sports Persons of Punjab domicile are eligible for the benefit of reservation.
• The candidate who has 40% or more disability can apply for a scribe.

The candidates who are physically handicapped will be given relaxation under the following disability percentage:
