OPSC PGT Exam Details 2026

The Candidates who are selected by the Odisha PSC will get a generous OPSC PGT salary package based on the 7th Pay Commission as adopted by ORSP. As per the recently released OPSC PGT Recruitment notice, the total annual salary that An OPSC PGT would receive would approximately be around INR 538,800/-

Along with the OPSC PGT Salary, the selected candidates are also eligible for dearness and other allowances as specified by the Odisha PSC from time to time. Candidates are advised to know the entire OPSC PGT Syllabus and Exam Pattern well beforehand for desired results.

The OPSC PGT recruitment is for the Group B posts. In addition to the basic salary, OPSC employees are also provided with Dearness Allowance (14%) as well as other allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha.

The basic OPSC PGT salary for a selected candidate is in the pay band of INR 44,900/- per month in level 10 of Cell-1 under ORSP Rules 2017. The salary of OPSC PGT employees is not inclusive of all the additional allowances. The OPSC PGT in-hand salary is subject to dearness and other allowances. For that, the candidates must be able to perform well in the exam with the help of the OPSC PGT Books and relevant study materials.

The appointment of new recruits for certain jobs can be purely temporary until the end of their probationary period. Through their probation period, candidates will be under constant assessment until the time of confirmation. Candidates who fail to qualify for the probation period would be terminated from the job.

OPSC has not mentioned anything about the probationary period through their recruitment notification and so its applicability may vary from institution to institution. For example, the Department Of School And Mass Education details a probation period of 2 years for all Post-graduate Teachers.

OPSC PGT Exam 2021 is an exam for the candidates to become a Post-graduate Teacher for the Odisha Public Services. A junior PGT will always be hired through direct applications. From here on, a junior PGT may promote to become a senior PGT. From here on, a senior PGT is eligible to be promoted for the post of Post Graduate Teacher in Group A (Selection Grade) of the service. After this comes the promotion for the post of the Principal or PGT in Group-A (Principal). Generally, a promotional committee decides whether a candidate is eligible for promotion or not.

The OPSC PGT Exam Eligibility Criteria has been released by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) for its upcoming Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) exam. All the candidates are expected to satisfy all the OPSC PGT Recruitment Eligibility in order to be considered for the post. Hence, before applying for the exam, candidates must refer to the age limit, educational qualifications, nationality, and experience eligibility conditions for the OPSC PGT Exam 2024.

• Candidates who satisfy all the eligibility criteria of the OPSC PGT post are required to apply online for the exam and pay an application fee of INR 400/- including imitation charges. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PWD (with at least 40% disability) categories are not required to pay this fee.
• As per the OPSC PGT Eligibility for nationality, candidates must be citizens of India with valid documentation proof to be eligible for the post.
• Candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 32 years old on the 1st of January 2023  to be eligible for the post of Post-graduate Teacher. The OPSC PGT Eligibility Criteria for age suggests that certain age relaxations are provided for reserved categories.
• The Commission holds the right to disqualify any candidate at any point in time if in case the candidate does not fulfill the OPSC eligibility for the PGT post.

Candidates are required to meet all the conditions as mentioned on the OPSC PGT Exam recruitment notification 2024 released by the OPSC. The candidates who fail to meet even one of the conditions specified in the eligibility criteria, will be disqualified from the selection process and not be granted the OPSC PGT Admit Card.
