What Are The Eligibility Requirements For NCERT LDC Recruitment?
The NCERT LDC Eligibility Criteria 2026 discusses the educational qualifications, age limits, language proficiency & other details that must meet in order to be eligible for the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) Lower Division Clerk (LDC) exam. The criteria see that candidates possess the necessary qualifications & attributes for the role setting the foundation for eligibility & a potential career in the field of education.
Age Limit
The critical date for determining the minimum and maximum NCERT LDC age limit will be April 22, 2026 which is the date of publication of the window advertisement in the Hindustan Times, Dainik Jagran & the regional leading newspapers of each State/UT. The date of birth will be determined as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate, or marks sheet of Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent issued as valid by the Central/State Council.

Age relaxation will also be granted to government employees for up to 05 years, in accordance with Central Government instructions or orders. However, as per EC Section notification No. F. 1-4/2017-EC/323-376 dated 12.07.2018, no age bar relaxation is applicable to NCERT employees only once.
Nationality
Candidates must be Indian citizens to take the NCERT LDC examination. Non-Indian citizens or foreign nationals are generally ineligible to apply for government jobs in India.
Education Qualification
Candidates must meet the below NCERT LDC Eligibility Criteria 2026 for the Lower Division Clerk (LDC) position:
- Intermediate 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board or university is needed.
- On a computer candidates must be able to type at a rate of 35 words per minute (English) or 30 words per minute (Hindi) . (35 w.p.m. & 30 w.p.m. correspond to 10500 KDPH/9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions per word).
Number of Attempts
The number of attempts a candidate can make for the exam is usually not specified. Candidates who continue to meet the NCERT Recruitment 2026 eligibility criteria may retake the exam in subsequent years until they reach the age limit specified in the official notification. It is important to review the notification each year in order to understand changes in the attempt limits if any.

Annual Package for the NCERT LDC
An NCERT LDC (Lower Division Clerk) annual package typically includes the total earnings and benefits that an LDC can expect to receive in a year.
