LIC AAO Eligibility 2025
The eligibility criteria for both AAO Generalists and Specialists have been specified in the official notification. Only candidates between 21 to 30 years of age who possess a Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines will be able to apply. LIC AAO Age Limit
The age limit for the LIC AAO 2025 exam will be calculated as on 1st January 2025, check out the minimum and maximum LIC AAO Age Limit from the previous cycle:

LIC AAO In-Hand Salary 2025
As per the revised salary structure, the LIC AAO Salary starts with a basic pay of ₹88,635 per month, which, after standard Dearness Allowance, cadre special allowance, HRA, and transport allowance, results in a gross salary of approximately ₹1,20,675. Following deductions for income tax, GIS premium, professional tax, and other contributions, the net LIC AAO in‑hand salary is approximately ₹1,07,222 per month. In a class ‘A’ metro city, the monthly basic salary of an LIC AAO will be Rs. 1,26,000/–.
LIC AAO Salary 2025: Allowances and Benefits
Apart from the monthly basic pay, LIC AAOs enjoy an extensive benefits portfolio as part of their salary package in the form of additional perks and allowances. Core allowances include House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), Dearness Allowance (DA), and Transport Allowance, all determined by city classification and prevailing norms. These allowances add up to the basic LIC AAO Salary per month to add up to a lucrative compensation package. In addition, LIC AAO officers are entitled to generous benefits including – Defined Contributory Pension, Gratuity, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Cash Medical Benefits, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance, loans for vehicles, meal coupons, reimbursements for briefcases, mobile handsets, daily newspapers, and mobile/furniture support. LIC AAO Emoluments and Major Details
- Total emoluments in addition to HRA and CCA whenever applicable, on the basis of posting (area wise), will approximately get to INR 1,26,000/- in a month (in-hand) in Class A city like Delhi, Mumbai or Kolkata.
- Candidates also receive other benefits like Defined Contributory Pension, Special Allowance for passing Actuarial Examination, Gratuity, Cash Medical benefit, LTC, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Assistant Insurance, Vehicle Loan (2 wheeler/4 wheeler), meal coupon, mobile handset, reimbursement towards the cost of briefcase/leather bags, the supply of daily and magazines, mobile expenses, etc, all as per rules.
- Selected candidates as LIC AAO, with two years of post-experience post-qualification on the date of eligibility, are eligible to get two years advance increment.

LIC AAO Probation Period
Details regarding LIC AAO Probation Period for the 2025 cycle have been announced with the official notification.
- A newly hired employee gets on to the probation period for one year exactly from the date of joining. The period is extendable for up to 2 years, on the basis of the performance of the candidate.
- It is mandatory for the candidates to be in LIC for a minimum of 4 years including the probation period.
- The maximum branches of the LIC lie in rural areas. So, after being recruited the candidates are placed in the rural locations for at least 3 years, outside their homes.
LIC AAO Posting
LIC AAOs initially undergo a training (induction) period, lasting 12 months, which may extend up to two years based on performance. Post-training, AAOs are posted across LIC’s vast network across India—you could be stationed at branch offices, regional or divisional centers, or even head offices, anywhere in India. While candidates can indicate three preferred locations, assignments depend on organizational requirements; however, female officers are usually posted in their preferred areas, often close to their hometowns. Transfers typically occur every three years, ensuring exposure to varied functions and regions.

LIC AAO Career Growth & Promotion
At LIC, the promotion is not that proactive. However, it is mandatory to serve at least 5 to 7 years to be eligible for the promotion.
1: After having a decent experience for a certain period of time, the candidates can be promoted to Administrative Officer (AO)-Assistant Divisional Manager (ADM)-Divisional Manager- Senior Division Manager- Zonal Manager and so on.

The LIC AAO Prelims exam is the first stage of the selection process and will be conducted online. It consists of three sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language, with a total duration of 60 minutes. The English Language section is qualifying in nature and will not be considered for ranking.

Candidates who clear the prelims will be shortlisted for the LIC AAO Mains exam. The LIC AAO main exam pattern has two parts: Objective Test (300 marks) and Descriptive Test (25 marks), both conducted online. The descriptive paper will be qualifying in nature and checked only if the candidate clears the objective test.
