1. Computer-Based Written Examination
The selection journey begins with a Computer-Based Test (CBT). This stage is the backbone of the entire process. The computer-based written exam stage is further divided into two different stages, i.e., for tier 1 and tier 2. Both Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams evaluate candidates' knowledge in the following areas:
- Subject knowledge
- Teaching aptitude
- General awareness
- Reasoning skills
- Language proficiency
The exam consists of multiple-choice questions, and the difficulty level varies according to the post (PRT, TGT, or PGT). Scoring well in this stage is essential because it holds the highest weightage in the final merit.
2. Demo Teaching / Skill Test
After clearing the written exam, candidates are invited for the Demo Teaching Round, which is one of the most practical and insightful stages of the selection process. In this round, you will be asked to teach a short lesson on a given topic. The panel observes how effectively you can deliver content and manage a class. This round helps KVS understand whether a candidate is ready for real classroom challenges. This stage in the KVS Recruitment exam checks candidates based on:
- Clarity of explanation
- Student engagement
- Lesson planning
- Use of examples and teaching aids
- Confidence and classroom behaviour
3. Personal Interview
Next comes the Interview Round, where your overall personality and understanding of the teaching profession are evaluated. The interviewers assess the applicant's knowledge in:
- Communication skill
- Professional attitude
- Subject clarity
- Approach toward teaching
- Problem-solving ability
You may be asked scenario-based questions, like how you will manage a distracted class or how you will simplify a difficult concept. This stage is crucial because it reflects how you think and respond as a teacher.
4. Document Verification
Candidates who pass the interview must go through document verification.
Here, KVS checks:
- Academic qualifications
- Category certificates
- Experience letters (if required)
- Identity proof
Any mismatch in documents may lead to disqualification, so candidates must carry all correct and original documents.
5. Final Merit List
Once all stages are completed, KVS prepares the final merit list by combining the scores of:
- Written Exam
- Demo Teaching
- Interview
Candidates are ranked strictly based on merit, and appointments are made according to available vacancies.
Tips to Clear the KVS Demo Teaching/Skill Test Round in One Go
- Go for a lesson you understand deeply and can break down easily within a few minutes. Simplicity shows clarity.
- Start with a short story, question, or example to instantly capture the panel’s attention.
- Before teaching, mention what the students will learn. This shows you plan your lessons with outcomes in mind.
- Write slowly, neatly, and highlight key terms. Evaluators observe your board sense very closely.
- Use simple examples and ask quick questions to keep the classroom atmosphere active and engaging.
- Stand straight, keep your tone friendly, and avoid unnecessary movement. Your presence should feel classroom-ready.
- Plan your intro, explanation, and conclusion so your demo feels complete within 5–7 minutes.
- If anything goes wrong, handle it smoothly. A confident attitude often impresses more than a perfect demo.
