Note:
- As per DoPT instructions, a PH/PwD applicant can be relaxed in different subject combinations up to max 56 years.
- If a PH/PwD applicant is also an ESIC/Govt. employee, they may be relaxed either in case of PwD or ESIC Employee age relaxation rules as he seems beneficial.
- *Ex-Servicemen age relaxations will be applicable after deduction of military service rendered from actual age.
- For ESIC employee age relaxation, they should continue to have the ESIC/Govt. Servant status till appointment.
ESIC SSO Qualifications

ESIC SSO Eligibility - Nationality
In terms of nationality or citizenship for candidates, the ESIC SSO Eligibility Criteria details are as follows -
- Either citizen of india, or
- Subject of Nepal, or
- Subject of Bhutan, or
- A permanently settled Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st Jan, 1962, or
- A person of Indian origin migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African Countries, Vietnam, etc for permanently settling in India.
ESIC SSO Training Period
Social Security Officer/Manager Grade-II/Superintendent newly hired male and female employees are provided with basic induction training by the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). The purpose of this training is to increase their competence, professionalism, and discipline so they can complete the responsibilities that have been assigned to them. The Induction ESIC SSO Training period of one week, or roughly 15 days, will be held to provide a fundamental understanding of the organization and how it operates.
Apart from Basic ESIC SSO Training, Candidates chosen for the position will serve a two-year probationary period, which the competent authorities may extend. He/she must pass the requisite probation clearance exam, as may be required by the relevant authorities, in order to complete the probationary period. If he/she is unable to pass the exam while on probation, his/her employment with the Corporation may be terminated.
ESIC SSO Posting
The post carries All India Service Liability and the candidates selected for the post are liable to get ESIC SSO Posting anywhere in India. New candidates will be posted according to the need of manpower in Regional office, SRO, and branch offices.
Factors Affecting ESIC SSO Posting
As ESIC SSO is a government job, one can also be placed PAN India depending on the number of openings, hence the posting is not entirely in the candidate's control.
- Candidates will be asked to provide detailed alternatives for various posts and Ministries/Departments/Offices either online prior to document verification or at the time of document verification.

After the candidates qualify for all three stages of the expected selection process, they will be eligible to serve across the country. However, they will be promoted to senior positions and the length of their career path will however depend on the duration of service. The longer a person stays in service, the higher the position will be. The least position an SSO would retire will be Deputy Director.
- The SSO gets promoted to Assistant Director.
- After serving as an Assistant Director, the candidate will be eligible to get promoted as Deputy Director.
- After this, the person will be promoted to Joint Director and then as Regional Director.
