DBT JRF Career Growth and Promotion

Promotion and growth aspects for DBT JRF depend on various parameters like performance index, work experience etc.

On completion of two years as JRF, the progress of the candidate will be evaluated for upgradation to SRF by a “Three Member Assessment Committee” of that Institute in which the candidate is enrolled.
In case the Committee does not recommend upgradation, the candidate will continue as JRF for another one year. The progress of research work of JRF will be assessed again at the end of 3rd year for upgradation to SRF.
The maximum tenure is 5 years. However, extension of tenure from 4 th year to 5 th year will be on the basis of the progress report and recommendation of the committee based on that report.
