CRPF SI Educational Qualification
Candidates must meet the CRPF SI Eligibility for Education requirements. According to the official announcement, different educational credentials are required for different jobs. The following are the specific educational requirements:

CRPF SI Nationality
A candidate applying to the post of sub-inspector with CRPF ought to fulfil the following criteria for nationality in order to be eligible to apply for the post. Have a close look at it:
A candidate must be either:
- a) a citizen of India, or
- b) a subject of Nepal, or
- c) a subject of Bhutan, or
- d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

CRPF SI Physical Standard Test (PST) 2024
Candidates who pass the written examination will advance to the CRPF SI Physical Test. The CRPF SI Physical Standards Test will consist of a series of tests, such as those of the candidate’s height and chest, designed to assess their physical fitness. This examination will be given to both male and female candidates. The criteria that candidates must meet in order to pass the CRPF SI Physical Test are listed below.

These medical exams are used to ensure that candidates are physically and mentally fit to perform their duties in the police force. The CRPF SI Medical Test is called the Detailed Medical Examination (DME), which is followed by a Review Medical Exam (RME) which is an optional exam held for candidates who are declared unfit during the DME. <br> CRPF SI Detailed Medical Examination (DME) 2024 <br> The following levels of medical assessment will be included in the Detailed Medical Examination (DME). If a candidate fails any or all of these tests, he or she will be declared unfit for the SI position. The details of the CRPF SI Medical test are as follows. <br> - Physical Measurements: Candidates' height, weight, and chest size are measured to ensure they meet the CRPF's minimum standards. <br> - Visual Acuity Test: Candidates must have normal vision without the use of glasses or contact lenses. | CP III BY ISIHARA | In a right handed person the Right eye is better eye and vice versa.- Binocular vision is required. <br> - Dental Exam: A dental exam is performed to ensure that the candidate has healthy teeth and gums. <br> - Audiometry Test: The audiometry test is used to determine the candidate's hearing ability. The candidate's hearing must be normal. <br> - X-Ray: A chest X-ray is performed to rule out any respiratory issues. |
Note - According to the previous official notification for 2023, "Temporary unfitness" will not be tolerated during a medical examination, except for a pregnant female. Female candidates discovered to be pregnant in the Medical Test, may be declared temporarily unfit. Her appointment is postponed until the confinement is completed. The vacancy for which a female candidate was chosen will be kept open for her. Six weeks after the date of confinement, she should be re-examined for Detailed Medical Examination, subject to the production of a medical certificate of fitness from a registered medical practitioner.
CRPF SI Review Medical Examination (RME) 2024
Candidates who are declared unfit during the Detailed Medical Examination (DME) will be allowed to take the Review Medical Examination (RME). Such candidates will be required to give a duly signed intimation, indicating their reasons for being unfit. RME will take place as part of the DME, preferably on the next day of the DME. In this examination, candidates will be examined for the very deficiency for which they had been declared unfit in the DME. The decision of the Re-Medical Board/Review Medical Board is final, and no appeal/representation against that decision will be entertained after disqualification from the RME.
Reasons for Rejection in the CRPF SI Medical Test
An important assessment of a candidate's physical and medical fitness is provided by the CRPF SI medical test. Any medical condition that could interfere with the applicant’s duty to carry out the duties of a CRPF SI could result in them being rejected. There are several reasons why candidates may get rejected in the CRPF SI medical test. Several common reasons are as follows:
- Visual Acuity: To be eligible for the position of CRPF SI, candidates must meet the prescribed visual acuity standards. If a candidate does not meet these requirements, they may be rejected.
- Hearing Ability: To be eligible for the position of CRPF SI, candidates must have normal hearing ability. Candidates with hearing loss or impairment may be rejected.
- Physical Fitness: If a candidate is found to be medically unfit or has a physical disability that may impair their performance, they will be disqualified. Further, over/under weight will lead to disqualification at the stage of Medical Test.
- Chronic Diseases: Candidates who have diabetes, hypertension, or any other chronic illness that could impair their on-ground performance will be disqualified.
- Skin Conditions: Candidates with contagious skin conditions or those who could endanger others may be disqualified.
- Mental Health: If it is determined that a candidate's history of mental illness may have a negative impact on their performance or the performance of their team, they may be rejected.
CRPF SI Annual Package
The annual CRPF SI package ranges from Rs.6.0 lakhs to Rs.7.0 lakhs (approx.) as per the official notification. Selected candidates will also be eligible for allowances and incentives in addition to a monthly salary.

CRPF SI Grade Pay
As per the 7th Pay Commission, the grade pay for CRPF SI post is Rs. 4,200/-. This grade pay is in Pay Level 6 of the Pay Matrix. The 7th Pay Commission was constituted in 2014 to revise the pay scales of government employees including armed forces personnel. It recommended a simplified pay matrix consisting of 18 levels with 44 pay cells. For the post of CRPF SI, the grade pay was fixed as Rs. 4,200 which is equivalent to Level 6 as per the pay matrix under the revised pay structure. This grade pay remains the same for the CRPF SI post till date as no changes have been made by the government in this regard post implementation of 7th CPC.
CRPF SI Salary Slip
The CRPF issues a salary slip to each employee at the end of every month. The salary slip contains details of basic pay, allowances, deductions etc. It is a computer-generated monthly document provided by CRPF to its employees serving as CRPF SI. It consists of information like gross salary, HRA, TA received, income tax deducted, provident fund contribution and net salary payable. Keeping an inventory of salary slips helps CRPF personnel to keep track of their monthly earnings and plan finances. It also acts as a proof of income required for various financial applications like home loans, education loans etc.
CRPF SI Salary Per Month
The approximate in-hand salary of a CRPF SI ranges from Rs. 54,000-60,000 per month. This salary range is considering factors like basic pay, DA, HRA and other applicable allowances. With allowances like DA, house rent allowance as per location, the total estimated salary could range from Rs. 50,000-60,000 per month. This monthly salary package makes CRPF SI a lucrative career option for those interested in the paramilitary and medical field combined.
CRPF SI Perks and Allowances
The candidates who will be appointed for the CRPF SI post will receive a set of allowances along with the basic salary once their probation period is over. The following benefits will be available to candidates:

CRPF SI Probation Period
The candidates selected for the post of CRPF SI are hired on a temporary basis (as per previous notification) the details of which are yet to be disclosed by CRPF, thereafter they stand a chance to be hired on a permanent basis with CRPF. Candidates will be paid a fixed monthly salary and will also be eligible for extra allowances and incentives during their service with CRPF.
CRPF SI Career Growth & Promotion
After completing the contract period, the candidates will be hired on a permanent basis and would be entitled for all the allowances related to the CRPF SI. Promotion and wage revision are dependent on the candidate's work ethic, work profile, seniority, and overall performance. The career growth prospects for a CRPF SI are satisfactory. With hard work and dedication, one can look forward to promotions in their career.
- After serving CRPF for a few years at the SI level, one can appear for written examinations to become an Assistant Commandant in CRPF. Higher selections like this will lead to higher pay scales and responsibilities.
- Besides promotion within CRPF, SI officials also have the option to appear for exams conducted by UPSC to join other Central Armed Police Forces like BSF, CISF etc. at similar or higher ranks.
- On putting in around 25 years of service, one may also opt for voluntary retirement with pension benefits.
- There are also opportunities for lateral shifts to administrative wings or the training division of CRPF.
