As per the BPSC Head Master eligibility criteria, the applicant must have the following qualifications:

• Must have passed post-graduation with at least 50 percent marks from a recognized university (05 percent relaxation for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Extremely Backward Class / Backward Class / Disabled / Women and Economically Weaker Section).
• B.Ed/B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed from a recognized institution. Passed.
• Passed in CTET/BTET (For the teachers appointed and working before the year 2012 who pass the efficiency test, it will not be mandatory to pass the teacher eligibility test.)

Only Indian nationals, eligible through BPSC can be recruited to the office of Headmaster. Only Indian citizens can apply to this post so that only the applicants satisfy the prerequisites set for the nation by the Bihar Public Service Commission, BPSC. The prerequisite is strict, and the applicant might need to furnish proof of his nationality when he submits his application or document verification stage.

The candidates can appear for the BPSC Headmaster Examination an unlimited number of times. There is no limit on the number of appearances. However, they have to satisfy the age criteria and their age should be within the specified age limits.

The BPSC Head Master eligibility criteria specifies that prior experience is mandatory for this post. Candidates must have either of the following experience:.

• Minimum of 10 years continuous service on the post of secondary teacher in a state government school, Panchayati Raj Institution or Municipal Body Institution.
• Minimum of 12 years continuous service in the post of Secondary Teacher in a school having permanent affiliation from CBSE/ICSE/BSEB
• Minimum 08 years of continuous service on the post of Higher Secondary Teacher in a State Government School, Panchayati Raj Institution or Municipal Body Institution.
• Minimum of 10 years continuous service in the post of Higher Secondary Teacher at an institute having permanent affiliation from CBSE/ICSE/BSEB.

• The applicants must ensure that they have all the required documents ready with them.
• The BPSC Headmaster post requires work experience as mentioned in the notification.
• Only the residents of Bihar can apply for the BPSC Headmaster post.
• The candidates should be post-graduates with at least 50 percent marks scored.
• The candidates should have passed the Teacher’s Eligibility Test.
