All candidates applying for the post of Bihar Police Driver will be required to pay a nominal application fee as per their category. The application fee is as follows –

Stage 1: Written Examination
The Written Examination is the first stage of the selection process. It will be conducted in offline mode with 100 objective type questions asked for a total of 100 marks. Each question will carry 01 mark. The duration of the overall examination will be 2 hours.
Stage 2: Physical Standard Test/Physical Efficiency Test
These tests include the physical fitness of the candidates. Various events will be there and candidates have to complete them in the allotted time. Time duration is different for male and female candidates.
- In the Physical Standard Test, candidates height, chest and weight will be measured as per the standards prescribed in the notice.
- The Physical Efficiency Test includes tests of 1600 meters race to be completed in 7 minutes for men and 1000 meters in 7 minutes for women. It also includes high jump, long jump, shot put according to defined standards.
Only those candidates who qualify the Physical Standard Test will be allowed for the Physical Efficiency Test. Qualifying both these tests is mandatory to progress to the next stage i.e. Driving Test.
Stage 3: Motor Vehicle Driving Test
Candidates who qualify for the Physical Efficiency Test will opt for the Driving Test. The driving test is 100 Marks. Marks will be allotted based on the Qualification. Candidates will be tested on their ability to Drive JEEP, Car, Bus, Truck in a given time with proper efficiency, and according to that marks will be allotted. Marks will also be awarded for oral tests and general knowledge about the maintenance and parts of the car.
Bihar Police Driver Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2025
Candidates should carefully look at the Bihar Police Driver Syllabus & Exam Pattern before getting started with their preparation for the Written Exam. The written exam will consist of 100 objective type multiple choice questions for 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. The syllabus includes General Knowledge, General Science, Mathematics and Logical & Analytical Reasoning.
General Knowledge will consist of questions to test candidates general awareness and knowledge of current affairs. General Science will include basic concepts in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Mathematics questions will be from SSC level. The Logical & Analytical Reasoning section will consist of puzzles, directions, series, symbols and analogies to test candidates logical thinking and problem solving skills.
The minimum qualifying marks in the written exam is 40% for UR category, 35% for OBC category and 30% for SC/ST/EWS category candidates. Selection will be based on performance in all stages of the selection process.
Bihar Police Driver 2025 Salary
Once the selection of candidates is done, the qualified candidates must be curious to know the pay scale of the post. The Bihar Police Driver Salary for the year 2025 according to the Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission is expected to be in the range of Rs. 25,000 - Rs. 81,100. Along with the basic monthly salary, some of the key allowances that a Bihar Police Driver would be entitled to receive are Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Medical Allowance, Travel Allowance and other special allowances. The driver would also be eligible for bonus on festivals and incentive based on performance.
The driver would be recruited at the initial basic pay of Rs. 25,000 in Pay Level 3 as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Further, the salary would increase annually by 3% as per the matrix. In addition to this, the driver is likely to get other benefits like promotion to higher posts with increase in salary and state government retirement benefits after completion of service. The salary provided helps support the driver and his family financially.

Bihar Police Driver Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates will be required to appear for a Physical Efficiency Test as part of the selection process. The minimum requirements as well as activities for the PET are as follows in the given table –

Note – Pregnancy at the time of PET will be a disqualification and pregnant female candidates will be rejected.
Bihar Police Driver Motor Vehicle Driving Efficiency Test
Candidates who declare themselves qualified in the Physical Efficiency Test will be called up for Driving Test. Driving Test Will be of Maximum 100 Marks. Testing Track will be provided to candidates. Based on their Qualification, Marks will be provided as:-
(A) Candidates Ability to Drive JEEP: 20 Marks. Marks will be provided as :

(D) Candidates will be asked 20 Questions prepared for the Oral Test & Sign related Committee. Maximum of 20 Marks will be provided.
(E) For General Knowledge of Parts of Cars, Maintenance & Lubricating and Knowledge of Mechanical, Technical Fault of Vehicle: 20 Marks will be provided.
